We follow the money, the laws, and the decisions that shape everyday life, and we explain them in plain language with receipts attached. Every major claim we publish is tied to a document, statute, dataset, or firsthand account that readers can inspect for themselves.

Unbought means we do not take direction from parties, PACs, corporate advertisers, or donor agendas. We are not here to make one side win; we are here to make it harder for anyone to lie with impunity.

We think enough is enough. We believe technocracy cannot replace American independence. We believe the truth echoes and an ember needs to be stoked within almost every neighbor in our great nation. Facts must be our salvation, and as far as we can tell at Unbought, money is the most typical barrier to fact. Thus, we want none. From anyone.

We focus on three things: sourced investigations, clear explainers, and citizen stories. For every piece, we invite readers to respond with corrections, missing context, and additional evidence. When we get something wrong, we correct it in public.
