Rating: M (Mature). Audio on Unbought may contain vulgar, offensive, crude, or repulsive language. Adults and children are not immune from hearing rough speech in public, and Unbought is designed to mirror a traditional public forum.

Expect the same range of speech you might overhear on an old grungy city block: you don’t know what you’ll hear from passing citizens. By using the site, you accept that audio is not sanitized and may be questionable.

A reporting feature will let anyone flag violent or sexual content. Reported material will be removed promptly; the entire discussion topic can be pulled; and the associated email, given name, and IP will be blacklisted. If an account exists, it and all posted content and audio are deleted. There aren’t many rules here, so follow the few we have.

Every disclosure, discussion, reply, and related item exposes its ID in the URL. The reporting tool will collect that ID and, if you choose, your contact info (or your account details if signed in) so moderation is precise and fast.

Data retention: we store only the minimal data needed to provide features. We don’t want money, so we will never sell your data. We typically ask only for a name, general location, and email, and do not validate them unless you create an account. That means there is little intrusive data to leak, and pseudonyms are welcome.

Unbought is admonished from exposure responsibility regarding audio: the reasonable expectation is the same as being in public. If you wouldn’t be surprised to hear it in a city alleyway, expect that you might hear it here.
